Printers Compatible with Vista

Among the selection of printers compatible with Vista operating system that I researched on, I was able to narrow down my choices between HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One, HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless, Epson WorkForce 610 and Canon Pixma MX860. I carefully reviewed each printer for all their features, the important aspects of what is present and what is not and the price that I could say is worth what it has to offer. I finally settled on Canon Pixma MX860, at its price of $130.

In the 6 months that my family and I have used this printer, we all agree that this is one of the best printers compatible with Vista that anyone can get hold of. In fact, it works in different kinds of environment from MS Windows XP, MX Windows 2000, Apple Mac OS X 10.5, X10.4 and x10.900 and Microsoft even bolstered its capability by giving out a certification to attest that this Canon Pixma MX860 is Certified for Windows Vista.

The compatibility of this printer is quite important to ensure that I can get the performance that this printer promises. This is quite important in as much as the printer is aided by the different software that runs its features.

One of the things I enjoy the most about this Canon printer are the paper feed options it provides different users, who may be working around it all at the same time through its wireless connectivity.

You can choose one paper feed that you will find as a rear loading tray or the one that you can pull out from underneath the foldout section; whichever tray is in use has 150 sheet capacity and additional paper guides to hold additional and smaller media, from photo paper to envelopes. The third option is the tray for copying and scanning. What is remarkable in all these paper feed options is that the printer's driver takes charge of choosing the right tray quite efficiently.

It is not everyday that you can encounter printers compatible with Vista, MS Windows XP and Mac to perform well by reading all languages in the different drivers built in the printer. It allows different PCs to work with ease and efficiency in different parts of the room, without requiring the users to crowd in the printer area just to get his paper requirement loaded for his or her printing purpose.

Even the printer's capability to choose from the 5-ink cartridge, 4 dye-based for ink and a fifth cartridge for the pigment-based black ink for the text is smartly managed by Canon MP Navigator EX. Not only does this printer produce highly quality photos and text documents, by using excellent color management but it can also produce these outputs at the most optimized manner of ink usage.

Based on reviews and the rate by which the cartridges are replaced, a black and white document has an equivalent cost of about $0.03 while the full sized document with color graphics will cost around $0.05. The 4 x 6 inch photos are still within the acceptable cost of $0.0529 if compared to other printers.

There are lots of good things to be said about this Canon Pixma MX860, which can scan, copy and fax as efficiently as it prints. Even the answering machine interface of the Fax features contributes in carrying out efficient work in a home office environment.

This machine is bundled with different software from Auto Photo Fix, Canon Solution Menu, Drivers & utilities, Canon MP Navigator EX and Canon Easy-PhotoPrint EX, hence, I can expect maximum benefits from all its features. A printer compatible with Vista to match my PC's Vista operating system was my first criterion.

By finding that compatibility in a wireless Canon Pixma MX860 which is full-packed with useful programs, it feels good that it's more than worth the $130 paid for.
