HP Officejet 6500 All-In-One Printer
This is just a personal review of the HP Officejet 6500 All-In-One printer, simple but multi-functional home office equipment that I really find reliable. My households printing needs are actually ordinary. The longest reports it had to print were mostly school reports, while the rest were odds and ends for a simple online craft making business and some graphics. What it can effectively do is save me the trouble of making trips to a local print mart just to have some documents printed, scanned or copied or even developed.
The main objective in buying this HP Officejet 6500 All-In-One printer is to buy a reliable machine that can print, scan, copy and fax if necessary. If I were to buy different machines for all these functions, I am sure it would have cost me more than just $150. Besides, I cannot imagine where to place all of them in a small home office. So keeping my objectives simple helped me decide in buying this all-in-one printer.
In fact, it was my husband who suggested that if I were to look for a home office printer he told me to zero in on an HP. His faith on HPs ability is based on a vintage HP Deskjet 500 that he is using at his place of work plus all the other HPs existing in their office. He said that they have tried other brands in the past before, but if you are after affordability and durability their best bet is always a Hewlett Packard printer.
I actually had my doubts about this HP Officejet 6500 All-In-One printer at first, due to some of the negative reviews about ink costs and installation problems, but my husband merely scoffed at my doubts. He says that I would hardly have any problem about ink cost because home office consumption is different from business needs. He explained that at the rate I will be using my printer, he doubts if consuming the ink was my problem. It would be more likely a case of the ink going stale on me.
My husband further assured me that I did not have to worry with the installation because all all-in-one printers particularly HP were installed in basically the same way. His long experience in handling HPs at his office had taught him that. All I should make sure of is to buy a Hewlett Packard printer because of:
- its excellent print quality;
- speed by which it can deliver to save time and energy;
- the length of time it will serve me owing to its tested durability;
- the all in one feature of having a multi-performing home office equipment.
No need to waste gas just to get something printed, scanned, developed, copied and faxed. Everything will be right in the comfort of my home and made possible at a very affordable price. Sure enough, my husband was able to install it without any hassles. He went direct to HP.com and installed the software coming from the "support & drivers” section.
I am glad I listened to my husbands tips and advice because I got exactly what I was looking for. He even kidded me about the length of time it will serve me and how I will be able to find out if this is true. He said it might be impossible to prove that because with the way I worry about things, my HP Officejet 6500 All-In-One printer might even outlast me. Nevertheless, this printer has not given me any reason to regret my decision and in fact motivated me to write this review.
I am of the opinion that the issues about the cost of ink are unfair because it is basically home office equipment and never pretended to be anything else. Some other consumers may be looking for a printer with the same objectives I had in mind. It would be too bad that they will miss out on the remarkable features of the HP Officejet 6500 All-In-One printer, which I almost did.
