Canon MX310 Pixma all-in-one fax/printer

My Pixma MX310 was 12months and six days in use from new when the Scanner unit failed rendering the whole machine unusable. I pleaded with Cannon to help out on the repair cost of $189 but they refused because it was out of warrantee. I am disgusted with Canon's attitude to customers. Am currently seeking adice from Office of Fair Trading. Would not recommend Canon to anyone, buyer beware.

These machines develope frustrating paper feed errors, fax /phone switching problems. For $179 purchase price I would have expected that it lasted longer than twelve months.
